Groundwork Milwaukee Project Selection Criteria
Groundwork Milwaukee is interested in hearing from community members about new projects. Feel free to contact us with your ideas (see the "Contact" page). We will evaluate your suggestions against our mission, using the following criteria:
Level 1
Does the project involve:
- Regeneration
- Improvement
- Management Of the Physical Environment
Will it include:
- People
- Business
- Organizations
Will it promote:
- Environment
- Economy
- Social well-being
Level 2
- Is the site a former brownfield?
- Is there an open land component, will it result in new greenspace or expand existing green space?
- Have goals or a vision been developed for the project?
- Does the project contribute positively to a neighborhood strategic open space plan or to the City's or County's greenspace goals?
- Does the project include an Educational or information sharing and provide capacity building for the community?
- Where is the site?
- What is the timing of the project?
Level 3
- Is the project located in areas not served by other greening organizations, or beyond capacity of other green organizations?
- If another greening organization is project lead, is it interested in Groundwork Milwaukee's participation?
- Does the project bring in new funding resources not previously awarded to other greening organizations in the City?
Level 4
- Is there a neighborhood/local partner willing to be "community leader"?
- Can the project's needs be filled by local skills/capacity?
- Will Groundwork's involvement increase chances for success?
